【創作理念】 在神話學的敘述中，「Genius Loci (場所精神)」指稱的是廟宇守護神，自古以來，地方守護神總是保護與成就一個區域人民的發展。建立於日治時期第三代高雄車站，就代表著這個區域的場所精神，照映著現代高雄的起源，以及走向世界的起點。指定為歷史建築的老站，在新站的興建過程中，經歷與眾不同的旅程，往東移多年之後，再度回到城市的中軸線上，繼續映射城市的脈動與國際的流通。   在這個作品的呈現上，我們藉由細細的光線，描繪建築優美的線條與外觀，並藉由動態變化，呈現站體搬遷的片段，並疊合高雄的歷史故事與特色，強化其代表場所精神的角色，強化老站在高雄車站具有永恆之意義。

【Artist’s Description】 In mythology, "Genius Loci" refers to the guardian spirit of a place, often a temple deity. Historically, these local guardians have protected and fostered the development of communities. The third-generation Kaohsiung Station, built during the Japanese colonial period, embodies the Genius Loci of this area, reflecting the origins of modern Kaohsiung and serving as the gateway to the world. Designated as a historic building, the old station underwent a unique journey during the construction of the new station. After being relocated eastward for many years, it has returned to the city's central axis, continuing to mirror the city's pulse and global connections.   In this artwork, we use delicate lighting to trace the graceful lines and exterior of the building. Through dynamic changes, we portray segments of the station's relocation and overlay them with Kaohsiung’s historical narrative and cultural identity. This emphasizes the station's role as a symbol of the Genius Loci and reinforces the old station’s enduring significance within Kaohsiung Station.
